Many Caring for Kids partners throughout all seven districts showed their gratitude to teachers and staff through notes of encouragement and thanks at the end of the school year. In Hickman Mills, Truman administrators, PTA, and community partners mailed cards/letters to the homes of all the staff. Every staff person received at least one card/letter along with a gift card during and many of them received multiple cards/letters throughout the week.

Other community partners across the city provided meals or gift baskets to staff through drive-through pick-ups or when staff came to the school to clean out their classrooms. In KCKPS, a partner provided $30 gift cards to each staff member at Frances Willard Elementary, and another community partner with the school’s PTA honored Eugene Ware’s secretary and registrar for her 28 years of service with an appreciation basket.
