SUMMARY:Prayer for Schools Day
DESCRIPTION:  \nPlease join this evening of prayer as people of God gather together from all over the KC metropolitan to pray on behalf of our children and their families.  \nCurrently\, our children and families are suffering in various ways. There is crime in our city\, identity crisis\, drug abuse\, mental illness\, loneliness\, and displacement. We know that God has a plan for our children. We want to mobilize prayer for our children through Jeremiah 29:11:  \n“For I know the plans I have for you”- this is the Lord’s declaration-  \n“plans for your welfare\, not for disaster\, to give you a future and a hope.”   \nWe know that God can give hope to apathetic situations. HE can bring life to the dry places in our community.  We invite fellow believers to lean into the power of prayer and intercede on behalf of our children.  \nHow will we do this? \nSimple. Come together. Worship together. Pray together. Caring for Kids Network has crafted points of prayer for each of the challenges we see first-hand when seeking to support school children through community partnerships. We would like to invite leaders from the city to lead various prayer points\, then we will offer time for attendees to pray together in small groups.  \nDirect Support \nDuring our event\, we will collect basic school supplies for two schools\, Kavoko Primary School and Ivuku Primary School in Kwa Muli\, Kenya. This village has two schools\, educating 600 children. Basic school supplies would give these children the same hope and vision for the future that we desire for all children.   \nHow can you help? \n\nDonate basic school supplies at the August 5 event: School bags\, #2 Pencils\, Notebooks\, Erasers\, Sharpeners\, Rulers. You can also donate directly to provide supplies and shoes to the village.\nProvide resources to help the Kwa Muli village build a water well. (More details to come.) \nVolunteer at the event.
