Safety by Choice, Not by Chance!
Nearly 150 families within the Ingels Elementary community enjoyed the school’s Safety by Choice, Not by Chance event April 14. The engagement event focused upon five safety rules:
I … if you feel unsafe, leave the place
N … Never play in hidden areas
G … Go in pairs
E … Expand your Bubble
L ... Look for help
S … Say no and run
The day promotes awareness of resources available throughout local community organizations and provides tools to help families keep their community safe. Through the school’s Caring for Kids partners – Turn the Page KC, LINC, The VIP Movement, United Believers Community Church, Pillars of Truth Church, and St. James/Renaissance Church – as well as many other organizations in the community, helped provide a fun-filled afternoon with food, a pie throwing contest, and numerous booths with free activities and resources.
